“I had the pleasure of working with Chelsea on a website project at Gud Marketing. She seamlessly wore multiple hats as both a strategist and copywriter. Her work ethic and passion for crafting compelling content make her an excellent choice for any project. I wholeheartedly endorse her.” -Tianyi Xie, Art Director at FCB Chicago

“Chelsea was a huge asset to my firm—gracing us with a thoughtful, flexible and clever style that connects the reader to the words in a way most writers only hope for. Chelsea’s writing skills emanate from her outstanding ability to listen. I love reading her work.”  -Jeff Blohm, Blohm Creative Partners

“I rely on Chelsea for a range of stories, from food and theater reviews to profiles, event coverage and more in-depth stories on news and trends. Chelsea has a talent for writing of all types, utilizing excellent interviewing and research skills as well as a good knowledge of how to organize and tell stories effectively. She is reliable, hardworking and great at meeting deadlines. She’s a pleasure to work with, and I always know her copy will be clean, thoughtful and effective.” -Nicole Noechel, Arts Editor at the Lansing City Pulse

About Me.

Hello! I am a writer and artist from Michigan. I am seeking freelance and contract opportunities in the categories of environment, energy, and b2b. I am especially good at technical communication which I describe as, “Simplifying complex concepts through copy.”

I began my marketing career in 2016, selling local NPR radio sponsorships in the lead up to the presidential election. Since then, I’ve worked in fundraising, agency marketing, account management, and local journalism. My credentials include a Certificate in Professional Writing from the University of California Berkeley’s Extension Program, a Masters from Central Washington University, an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, and an associates degree from Lansing Community College (where I attended on a fully-funded academic merit scholarship).

My graduate research into 1970s Anarchist political theatre was published in the peer-reviewed Journal for the Study of Radicalism. While at school, I won multiple research grants and the Dr. Milo Smith Theatre History award. I have presented at seven (maybe more?) academic conferences, and was a keynote panelist at a 2015 regional American Studies Association meeting.

Collage Artist.

I am also a fine artist, working in collage and found poetry.
